Another month has ticked by and we are getting closer and closer to that all important race in London, the 2013 world triathlon championships. Although there is still plenty of time to get things together, and I'm really happy with where I'm at considering the phase of training that I'm in. I'm still in the preparatory phase of training meaning my workouts are still based around building strength and endurance. Being in the kind of shape that I'm in already, I'm really excited to see what September and the world champs will hold for me. During the past month the Australian 10km road running championships was on, i won't go into detail about it because I've already posted a race report from the race but I am now the Australian open bronze medalist in the 10km road champs and the open bronze medalist in the Australian open sprint triathlon. In the week following the race i was bombarded with media, on at least three different TV news reports, radio interviews, and a bunch of newspaper articles. I felt like a celebrity! It's a bit strange really, but it's something I'd be more than willing to get used to. I just have to make sure i get results that will keep them interested, that's the hard part!
Some solid training and a heap of school made up the remainder of the month. Only two terms of school to go now though, ever! I'm super excited for it to be finally over, I've been dreaming about this since about grade 8! You could say I'm not a huge fan of school i guess... I'm writing this with a bird's eye view of Bass Straight, soon to fly over Melbourne on my way to the Gold Coast in what I'm hoping is the sunny part of Australia at the moment! Apparently not many people fly from Launceston to the Gold Coast this time of the year though so I'm having to detour to Sydney (which sucks!). What should be a two and a half hour flight now takes closer to five hours. Really it's not that big of a deal I guess, but while writing these blog's I always seem to find something to complain about... But really life is good. I'm on holidays (if you could still calling that) in my favourite Australian city training with the National Talent Academy and world's team prior to our departure to Europe early next month. I'm looking forward to this next block of training and being able to catch up with the team should be great too!
That's all for now, thanks for reading.
